Cadbury advertises to recover consumer confidence
-Your Cadbury chocolate made and sold in Malaysia is certified Halal. Youve trusted us for 40 years and can continue to do so.
“All is good. Enjoy us again”
This was the message sent by chocolate manufacturer Cadbury Malaysia seen on many major newspapers in their effort of winning back the people’s heart especially the Muslim consumers.
Cadbury in their advertisement stated that Malaysian consumers have trusted them for 40 years and can continue to do so.
It also stated that the Cadbury products made and sold in Malaysia have received the halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim).
“Your Cadbury chocolate made and sold in Malaysia is certified Halal. You’ve trusted us for 40 years and can continue to do so.
“Thank you Malaysia for believing in us,” stated Cadbury in the advertisement.
On June 2, Jakim received the lab analysis report from the Department of Chemistry (JKM) stating that no pig DNA (porcine) were found in the two samples of Cadbury products:
1) Cadbury Dairy Milk Hazelnut with the batch number 200813M01H I2 and expiry date November 13, 2014; and
2) Cadbury Dairy Milk Roast Almond with the batch number 221013N01R I1 and expiry date January 15, 2015.
JKM stated that priority was given to testing of the samples of the two products as it was a national interest following a press release by the Ministry of Health on May 24.
Cadbury also espressed their relief with the statement provided by Jakim which stated that their products were free of pig DNA as claimed.
