Cancellation of Kidex project has negative impact - Selangor Youth Council

The Selangor government's decision to cancel the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) project has left the Selangor Youth Council disappointed.

Selangor Youth Council president Datuk Irmohizam Ibrahim said the decision is cause for worry among investors as the Pakatan Rakyat government can also cancel economic projects.

"The investors are worried as decisions on economic activities can also be cancelled just by giving some reasons," he said in a statement today.

Irmohizam said the cancellation of the Kidex project will also restrict employment opportunities.

On Monday, Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali announced that the RM2 billion Kidex project had been cancellation as the concessionaire failed to comply with conditions set by the state government.
