Car set ablaze, no bomb explosion, IGP clarifies
Prasarana in a statement clarified that the fire involving cars at Taman Jaya this afternoon did not occur at LRT Taman Jaya Station or car park.
A car was set ablaze at the parking lot near Taman Jaya today, resulting in the fire spreading to six other nearby cars.
The incident involved a Toyota Vios and Proton Wira which were fully destroyed in the fire while a Suzuki Swift had 80 per cent of burns.
A Proton BLM, Proton GEN 2 and Honda also caught fire in the incident.
The fire was put out by 1.30pm.
Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar in a tweet today said police are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, Prasarana in a statement clarified that the fire involving the cars at Taman Jaya this afternoon did not occur at LRT Taman Jaya Station or its car park.
"The incident had taken place at a car park next to our station. The car park is not operated by Rapid KL," the statement read.
"Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. No injuries reported. Train services are not affected and are operating as usual," it further stated.
