Cara and Pharrell Team Up for Chanel

Talk about a fashion fantasy team! Cara Delevingne and Pharrell Williams have partnered with Karl Lagerfeld on what may be the coolest Chanel film yet. The fashionable duo stars in “Reincarnation,” a short movie created and directed by Lagerfeld (the brand’s creative director) that will accompany the Chanel Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d’art collection when it’s shown on Dec. 2, 2014, in Salzburg, Austria.

Other members of the cast include Lady Amanda Harlech, who appeared in Lagerfeld's last pre-collection film Private View, models Baptiste Giabiconi and Heidi Mount and six-year-old Hudson Kroenig, who will return to the Chanel catwalk at the Métiers d’art show.

“Reincarnation” re-enacts a holiday Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel took to an Austrian resort in 1954, where the designer became mesmerized with a jacket worn by the hotel’s elevator operator that became the inspiration for the iconic Chanel jacket that we know and love today. In the clip, Delevingne and Williams play a couple in love who expressively sing a melodic duet of “CC the World,” an original song composed and written by the musician specially for the video.

The set is meant to suggest an Austrian hunting lodge in the spirit of the upcoming line and Coco’s journey, and the period costumes are unbelievable! But that’s not all—Delevingne and Williams will come together for the Paris-Salzburg collection’s advertising campaign, which will drop in May 2015.

The full version will premiere Dec. 1 on chanel.com.
