The caretaker government will convene as usual to present the "mini" Budget 2023, says caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the current administration will remain as long as a new government has not been formed following the 15th General Elections (GE15).
"We will convene (Dewan Rakyat) and the budget will be presented to approve emoluments related to the government's expenditure, particularly for civil servants' salaries.
"It (the mini budget) must be presented before December for civil servants to receive their January salary. It must be done before December 31," he said when met outside a restaurant in Sunway Putra today.
Ismail added that there was no need for the people to worry as the caretaker government was still functioning and able to manage the country.
"The previous government remains temporarily. The Cabinet is also functioning as usual, except for those who did not contest or lost in the general election.
"They are no longer in the Dewan Rakyat and cannot hold ministerial posts like before," he added.
