Carine Roitfeld x Uniqlo

Carine Roitfeld, the inimitable editor-in-chief of CR Fashion Book and former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris has designed a collection for Japanese retailer Uniqlo. Roitfeld worked with Uniqlo’s design director, Naoki Takizawa on the 40-piece collection which will drop into Uniqlo stores in late October.“I started from the idea of clothes that I would want to wear myself, and developed this into clothes that anyone would want to wear, a woman’s ideal of clothes that make her feel transformed when she wears them,” Roitfeld said in the press release.
“Carine goes to see collections all around the world, and the visuals that emerge from this relentless pursuit of leading edge fashion have had a tremendous influence on the fashion industry,” Takizawa added. It’s no secret that Roitfeld’s personal style, as well as her professional output, is dissected/copied/blogged about/aspired to by loyal followers all over the world.

Roitfeld was the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris from 2001 to 2011 before forming her own magazine CR Fashion Book. Her relationships in the fashion industry are also well-known. The visionary editor counts Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford, Riccardo Tisci and more among her closest friends.
We're eager to see how the brand carries off Roitfeld's trademark look of structural tailoring, form-fitting skirts and hint of sex appeal.
The collection will be available from the end of October 2015.
