CCTV footage will give new clues on Syed Amen's murder - police

In the 3.30am incident on Feb 11, Syed Amen Jainul Abidin, 46, the owner of a nasi kandar restaurant and several car wash outlets was shot dead in front of a high-powered motorcycle shop in Jalan Datuk Keramat.
Experts at the police forensics laboratory are still analysing the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage related to the shooting of a businessman in Jalan Datuk Keramat, here, last month.
Northeast district police chief, ACP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said he believed that police would obtain new clues to the case after receiving a full report on the CCTV footage.
"The CCTV recording at the scene was sent after the incident and based on some information obtained (from the CCTV), I believe we will have some new developments on the case."
He told reporters this after the flagging-off for participants of the Melaka Trishaw Riding Programme by Penang deputy police chief, Datuk A. Thaiveegan, here, on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Mior Faridalatrash said police arrested a teenager believed to be a member of a motorcycle theft syndicate, which had been active in the district.
He said the 18-year-old was arrested in Sungai Nibong, here, at 4.10am Thursday and the initial investigation revealed that the motorcycle he was riding had been reported stolen in George Town, recently.
