The Ministry of Health (MOH) has advised all Muslims to have a private Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration in their homes.
Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that visiting activities should be postponed if they are not necessary to ensure the safety of families and people at high risk.
“From the Ministry of Health, we would like to advise the public to hold a closed-door raya celebration.
"It may not have happened before but at least we can protect our families and communities.
"So, if you can put this into practice, you will have a 'ban' on your own, for example. This is to ensure that no outsiders come to your house," he said at a daily press conference here on Friday.
At the same time, Dr Noor Hisham said, while the government allowed visits to a maximum of 20 people, the community had to reconsider the matter.
"The 20 people are relatives. The 20 people crowding in a small apartment certainly does not work and they are against our recommendations.
"What is more important is to stick to the standard operating procedure (SOP) and practise the '3C' - avoid confined, crowded, and close conversation," Dr Noor Hisham added.
