Centralised training for MFL, MHL and STL allowed - Ismail Sabri
Ismail Sabri said the decision was made after an appeal made by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and the risk assessment of various agencies in the Technical Committee of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
KUALA LUMPUR:The government has decided to allow centralised training program for teams in the Malaysian Football League (MFL), Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) and Sepak Takraw League (STL) from Monday.
The decision was made after the government reviewed an appeal made by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS).
Senior Minister (Defence Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said the decision was made after the risk assessment of various agencies in the Technical Committee of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
"Based on this permission, the training and movement of athletes and players is controlled according to the sports bubble model.
"The accommodation of athletes and players must also follow the standard operating procedures of 'quarantine in camp' and 'quarantine at home' that have been set," he said at a press conference on the implementation of the MCO, on Tuesday.
Ismail Sabri said the government was also conducting a final study on the proposed opening of several sports activities, especially those that are individual and those with no contact for the purpose of physical fitness and improving the standard of personal health.
He explained that the government will announce the matter applied for by the KBS in the near future.
