Twitter's long-awaited plan to expand tweet lengths beyond 140 characters is coming next week.
According to The Verge, Twitter users will no longer be hamstrung by the 140-character limit as of Sept 19, with media attachments like GIFs, videos, polls and quoted tweets no longer reducing the character count.
Likewise, usernames will no longer be counted when at the beginning of replies, giving users additional leeway.
