Runway 2, Changi Airport is now operational after cleaning work and inspection.
Earlier, Singapore Airlines Flight SQ368 bound for Milan caught fire and returned to the airport and landed at the runway early this morning.
The affected aircraft has been towed away.
When the aircraft landed at Changi Airport Runway 2, the engine caught fire but it was extinguished within minutes by the Airport Emergency Service team which was already on standby, updated Changi Airport on its Facebook.
The aircraft returned to the airport at about 6.50 this morning due to an engine oil warning message.
The flight had departed from Changi earlier at about 2.25 am.
All the passengers and crew on board disembarked safely and no injuries were reported.
