Earlier Lim had said that he Speaker's actions had somehow caused the investigations to be stopped.
Chaos ensued at the Parliament's evening sitting today due to the impending motion to suspend DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang over his remarks towards the Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.
It all began when Anthony Loke (DAP-Seremban) stood up to air his grievances over the matter.
"How is it possible for the notice of the motion to be distributed among us even before Gelang Patah (Kit Siang) came to Parliament to explain himself?" queried Loke.
A number of other Pakatan Harapan lawmakers then stood up to bombard Deputy Speaker Datuk Ronald Kiandee with questions why such a move was taken by the Barisan Nasional.
At this juncture, Pandikar entered the hall to chair the session.
"What is the issue? It is only a notice. All that Gelang Patah can do is to retract and apologise. Not a problem," said Pandikar.
To this, several Pakatan lawmakers stood up to protest the notice.
"Alright then. Let this be a lesson. When such a thing happened, a lawmaker should be wise enough to apologise when he or she did a mistake," said Pandikar.
He then urged Datuk Seri Azalina Othman (BN-Pengerang) to retract the notice before asking Kit Siang to announce his decision whether to apologise or not.
Earlier, Kit Siang has said that he had not meant that Pandikar had intentionally sabotaged the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) probe but only meant that the Speaker's actions had somehow caused the investigations to be stopped.
On Monday, Lim who is the MP for Gelang Patah had accused Pandikar of abusing his power when he temporarily suspended the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) investigations into 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Pandikar then ordered Lim to retract his statement and apologise for making such allegations or risk the possibility of suspension.
