Charred remains of unidentified victim inside torched 4WD in Bau

The charred remains of an unidentified person have been discovered inside a 4WD vehicle that had been set ablaze near the road heading to Kuari Tamar at Kampung Kopit, Jalan Bau-Batu Kitang near here.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department director Nor Hisham Mohammad said when contacted that a team from the local fire and rescue station arrived at the scene at 12.33 pm, yesterday.
He said the team found a totally burned white Mitsubishi Triton and the victim's remains on the floor of the vehicle's backseat.
Nor Hisham said initial investigations revealed the vehicle was deliberately torched and blood traces were also found on the road near the scene.
"Police are still investigating and have classified the case as murder," he said.
