Childcare worker pleads guilty to abusing toddler

A childcare worker pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court here today to abusing a one year-five-month-old toddler on Oct 21.
Hanifah Ngah, 35, admitted committing the offence at Taska Nur Dina in Jalan Sungai Kelubi 32/103, Kemuning Greenhills 2, Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam.
Magistrate Farah Azura Mohd Saad set Dec 12 for mitigation and sentencing, pending the forensic report.
The charge, under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2011, carries a maximum jail term of 10 years or RM20,000 fine, or both, upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Siti Rohaida Che Hamid appeared for the prosecution while Hanifah was unrepresented.
