ON April 25, the 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) Malaysia Overseas Roadshow was held in Kuala Lumpur, the first of its kind in Malaysia. This coincided with the release of the Joint Statement Between the People's Republic of China and Malaysia on Building a High-level Strategic China-Malaysia Community with a Shared Future on April 17, which saw the signing of cooperation documents between the two sides in various areas such as AI, digital economy, trade in services, railway, agricultural products, culture and tourism, and media. These developments herald a new historic opportunity for cooperation between China and Malaysia in trade in services, particularly in digital services trade.
