City folks go last minute bargain hunting

With Aidilfitri just hours away shoppers are still milling about their favourite spots in the city for last minute bargains.
A survey by Bernama today at several locations around Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) and Jalan Masjid India found the areas crowded with people taking advantage of knocked down prices.
Among the popular items were headscarves, raya cakes, baju melayu and baju kurung.
University student, Nur Balqis Muhammad, 22, was tempted by the last minute sales with items offered at a fraction of their original prices.
Jamiah Hassan, 49, a mother of six children, sought bargains for the entire family at stalls which were virtually giving away items before closing for the festive season.
Traders lowered prices by as much as 50 to 70 per cent to clear their stocks.
A robe trader, Muhamad Sani Mazwar, 33, who has been in the business for 10 years, said his stall was offering 50 per cent discounts today.
Salina Aibadillah, 36, a kuih raya seller was clearing various types of cakes and cookies at RM10 per container which were sold for more than twice the price last week.
