The family of Claudia Theophilus, the Doha-based Malaysian journalist who died in a freak shooting accident in Lebanon, is asking the media to respect their privacy as they mourn their loss.
A family member told Bernama today, they were still coming to terms with the tragedy.
"Her sickly parents have been 'harrassed' by the media since news of her death broke.
"We would greatly appreciate if the media can respect our privacy and pray for her soul," said the family member.
It was reported that the 42-year-old victim, who was attached to the Al-Jazeera television station, was shot by a stray bullet on Saturday, while on holiday in Beirut.
Theophilus was the eldest of three children.
