A total of 158 individuals were detained by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) for violating the directives of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) on Saturday.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the PDRM also issued compounds to 457 individuals for various offences of the CMCO.
“Of the total, 288 compounds were issued at the police station, (while) one compound was issued for Aidilfitri visiting.
"A total of 169 compounds were served in the field, including 144 at roadblocks," he said at a daily press conference here on Sunday.
Ismail Sabri said Perak had the highest number of compounds for interstate travel attempts with 42, followed by Selangor with 32 compounds while Penang and Johor have 24 each.
"So, it seems that there are still people who were trying to embark on state cross-border journey on the seventh and eighth day of hari raya," he said.
