CMCO: Bachelors asked to be patient, not time yet to 'balik kampung' - Ismail Sabri

Bachelors are still not exempted from the prohibition on interstate movement during the period of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) especially ahead of the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, there was no flexibility given to single individuals for the movement and the exemption was only given to spouses.

“On humanitarian grounds we only allow spouses who have been missing their children for two months during the MCO.

"We ask that those who are single to be patient first. We understand that their parents miss them and at the moment no relaxation is being made so they need to abide by existing laws," he told a press conference here today.

In another development, Ismail Sabri said, police restrictions were still being implemented involving tolls for each state entrance and only those who had the permission of the police were allowed to travel interstate.

Recently, Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that spouses living in separate states due to work factors would be given the flexibility to travel across the state.

However, the interstate travel is limited to once a week and individuals must apply to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) for permission to travel across the state.
