Ismail Sabri said the government is not going to stop them, instead encouraged them to return to the Klang Valley for work.
Those who managed to sneak cross-border to the village to celebrate Aidilfitri, especially civil servants, were advised to return to work if they do not want to lose their jobs.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said if they had previously dared to defy the directives by returning to the village, then they should be brave enough to bear the consequences.
“To them, I would advise to come back because today, the DG of PSD (Director General of Public Service Department) has issued a statement that those who fail to work after the holidays will be disciplined.
"So, if they dared to do it, they have to be brave to face the eventualities. If they managed to sneak their way before this, then they are 'good enough' ... but if they come back and can't sneak their way, they will be taken action by the police, so just pay the compound, ” he said.
He said the government is not going to stop them, instead encouraged them to return to the Klang Valley for work.
He added that they should not be afraid of being compounded as they could end up losing their jobs if they did not return on time.
