CMCO in Kedah, Melaka, Johor, Terengganu ends tomorrow except a few districts

KUALA LUMPUR:The government has agreed to end the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in the states of Kedah, Melaka, Johor and Terengganu starting tomorrow (21 November 2020).

However, according to Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, several districts were still placed under CMCO, namely in Kulim, Kedah, and Mersing and Kota Tinggi in Johor.

"As of November 18, 2020, the current situation throughout the country still shows a trend of increasing positive cases with the number of active cases still high.

"However, there are some states showing a trend of decreasing positive COVID-19 cases and controlled conditions in Kedah, Melaka, Johor and Terengganu.

"In the state of Kedah since November 5, there has been a decrease in the number of cases until November 18, 2020, where only 85 active cases were recorded throughout the state and the situation was under control.

"This is based on the risk assessment of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) except Kulim district still recording 23 active cases.

"Therefore, MOH today advised based on risk assessment and the NSC meeting agreed that CMCO throughout Kedah is terminated on 21 November 2020, except Kulim district continues for two weeks," he explained in a daily press conference of the Movement Control Order (PKP) on Friday.

However, he said, the states which have been lifted from CMCO must follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which is still being implemented at this time.Edit×
