More compliance operations task force personnel will be deployed at shopping malls to avoid violation of the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the deployment of the task force personnel was necessary as the shopping centres were having special sales in conjunction with the festive season which could lead to crowding.
"I believe the compliance operations task force personnel are being deployed more to shopping malls and premises doing special sales to ensure compliance with the CMCO.
"We can take action not to allow them to continue their business if they fail to comply with the SOP issued by the National Security Council (MKN)," he told a media conference here on Wednesday.
Ismail Sabri said visitors also had to practise social distancing during shopping especially during the Aidilfitri festival.
On the other hand, he said traders need to comply with SOP requirements such as controlling the number of customers in the store at a time and providing a disinfectant fluid to contain the COVID-19 outbreak.
