CMCO: PDRM forms task force to ensure compliance

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has set up a Compliance Operations Task Force to monitor and enforce compliance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) throughout the country.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the special team consisted of 14 government agencies authorized by the Ministry of Health (MOH) for the implementation of the CMCO 's compliance.

"The agencies include the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), the Malaysian Defence Forces (APM); the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA); the Malaysian Volunteer Department (Rela) and the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

"The number of members of the Task Force will be increased like the Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB)," he said in a press conference here Tuesday.

Ismail Sabri said that the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) Compliance team was also set up at the district level headed by the District Police Chief (KPD).

He said the team was made up of regular members of the PDRM, ATM, Rela and APM including local authorities.

"The approach that the Compliance Team will take is to provide advice to the public and the industry sector.

"The team will also issue warnings if compliance is still unsatisfactory.

"If any individual or industry sector still fail to comply with the regulations after being advised and warned, the CMCO Compliance Team will take action under the provisions of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342)," he said.
