CMCO: Selangor leads with cross-border attempts, 1,158 vehicles ordered to turn around

Selangor recorded the most cases of cross-border attempts, a day before the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration yesterday.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the state recorded 460 cross- border attempts as of Saturday, followed by Melaka with 121 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 95 cases.
In a statement today, he said the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) had also ordered 1,158 vehicles attempting interstate travel with the intention of returning to the village to turn around.
However, the figure showed a decline as compared to Friday's 1,613 vehicles.
A total of 162 roadblocks were also mounted nationwide, with 157,364 vehicles being inspected by the PDRM.
Ismail Sabri added that as of yesterday, the PDRM arrested 156 individuals and remanded 50 individuals for violating the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) standard operating procedure (SOP).
Meanwhile, another 106 individuals were compounded with similar offences.
"Therefore, all parties are reminded to abide by the SOP and the rules set forth.
"Cooperation and self-control are of utmost importance in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
