CMCO: Task Force conducts 77,537 inspections, detains 44 individuals

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Compliance Operations Task Force conducted 77,537 inspections to monitor and enforce the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) nationwide on Tuesday.
Of the total, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, 4,883 inspections were conducted at supermarkets, 5,572 restaurants, 697 hawkers, 1,260 factories and 3,878 banks.
In addition, inspections were carried out at 1,108 land transport terminals, 208 water transport terminals and 107 air transport terminals.
“The Compliance Operations Task Force inspected 32,670 private vehicles, 2,369 public vehicles and 461 vessels.
“Also examined were 2,814 public markets, 4,138 places of worship, 3,1,546 places of leisure and 462 construction sites.
“A total of 3,315 Compliance teams have been monitoring and involving 18,864 members,” he said at a daily press conference here on Wednesday.
In a similar development, Ismail Sabri said the PDRM also detained at least 44 individuals for violating the SOP of the CMCO as of Tuesday, with 40 of them remanded while the rest were released on police bail.
"One again I would like to remind that every individual should adhere to the SOP or else they will face police action of whether a compound, remanded or taken to court for violating the MCO directives," he said.
