PUTRAJAYA: The government has decided to implement the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Tongkang Pechah, Batu Pahat, Johor from November 29 to December 13.
Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was made after 56 positive COVID-19 cases were detected in the area so far.
He said the Ministry of Health (MOH) has also conducted screening tests on 672 individuals, with 302 samples still awaiting results.
"The CMCO will involve a total of 16,300 residents in the following areas: Bandar Putera Indah; Lorong 7 to 10; Batu 7; and Kampung Mohd Nor.
"The implementation of CMCO is to enable the MOH to carry out targeted screening and to reduce movement among the community in this area," he said in a press conference, here on Friday.
Commenting further, Ismail Sabri said economic activities are still running as usual according to CMCO standard operating procedures (SOP).
