In the month since the commencement of the Conditional Movement Control Order (PKPB), the number of vehicle inspections by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has increased to 290,432 as of Wednesday compared with 267,373 vehicles the previous day.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the inspections were the result of 140 cross-border roadblocks nationwide within 24 hours.
Among the states that recorded the highest cross-border attempts were Kedah with 66 cases, followed by Selangor (25 cases) and Malacca (14 cases).
"The security forces have also ordered 111 vehicles to turn around while trying to cross the state borders without permission," he said at a press conference here on Thursday.
In a similar development, Ismail Sabri said the PDRM-led Compliance Operations Task Force had conducted 74,901 inspections to monitor and enforce compliance with the CMCO standard operating procedures (SOP).
In addition, he added that the PDRM also detained 31 individuals for violating the CMCO directives.
Of the total, 26 people were remanded while five others released on police bail.
"The PDRM also issued compounds to 93 individuals for various offences of the CMCO," he said.
According to him, as of Wednesday, a total of 7,532 sanitation operations covering 132 zones had been carried out.
He said 11,065 premises were sanitized which included 2,644 business centres, government buildings (4,150), residential areas (1,583) including the People's Housing Project (PPR), public spaces (2,336) and supermarkets (352).
"Yesterday there were 43 sanitation operations covering 37 zones in 12 states including Sabah (11 operations) Johor (eight operations) and Melaka (four operations)," he said.
