CMCO violation: 10 individuals detained
The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has arrested 10 individuals for breaching the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the government would not compromise with any individual trying to violate the SOP.
"The authorities will take legal action against anyone found to be non-compliant with the SOP provided. Therefore, all parties are advised to abide by the SOP and the rules set forth.
"Collaboration and self-discipline are all crucial in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic," he said at a press conference here on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said 62,656 inspections were conducted to monitor and enforce the CMCO SOP nationwide.
Of the total, he said, 4,476 supermarkets, 5,187 restaurants and 1,474 factories and 3,100 banks were inspected.
"Inspections have also been conducted at 1,210 land transport terminals, 180 water transport terminals and 71 air transport terminals.
"The Compliance Operations Task Force inspected 25,807 private vehicles and 2,541 public vehicles. Also inspected were 2,015 public markets, 3,580 places of worship, 1,498 recreational areas and 281 construction sites," he said.
