The first day of Chinese New Year for this year will be celebrated on Monday.
Some of us are perhaps are wondering just how much we need to give in that red packets when invited to visit your family members, relatives or friends during the celebration.
Just looking at your income isn't enough, apparently.
A Facebook post that went viral in Singapore recently, might just have the formula you should abide by.
The post shows a guidance, on how much you need to give, based on your total income during the year.
The Singapore's largest international shopping platform, 65daigou uploeaded a post 23 Jan, and to date, it has been shared over 2000 times.
65daigou provided the breakdown of the appropriate amount, based on a person's income in Singapore, from the low-income (annual income of below RM87,987), middle-income (RM87,987- RM351,949) or the high-income (above RM351,949).
For those earning below RM87,000 a year can give an angpow ranging from RM23 to RM82.
If you earn over RM351,949 a year, your angpow should be between RM82 and RM170.
So folks, go figure on how much 'kerching' you'd like to spend this Lunar Year!
