College student killed in hit-and-run accident

A college student was killed in a hit-and-run accident at KM130.5 of the northbound North-South Expressway, near the Sungai Dua intersection, here Saturday.
Seberang Perai Utara police chief ACP Abdul Rahman Ibrahim said in the 11.30am incident, the victim, Muhammad Adham Mohamad Asmadi, 18, was riding a motorcycle and on his way home in Kampung Tok Bedu, Tasek Gelugor near here.
He said the victim died on the spot in the incident after being hit by an unidentified vehicle.
"The accident occurred when the victim was riding a motorcycle alone from Seberang Jaya. Initial investigations revealed that the teenager's motorcycle lost control at the scene before being hit by a vehicle. However, the vehicle fled the scene," he said when contacted by Bernama.
Abdul Rahman said the victim's body was sent to Kepala Batas Hospital for post-mortem while the case would be investigated.
