Congestion on major highways
Major highways nationwide were reported to be congested following the exodus back to the city after the Chinese New Year holiday.
A Plus Expressways Bhd Traffic Control Centre spokesman said vehicles had started slowing down since 8.30 pm in both directions of Bukit Tambun-Juru, Sungai Perak rest area to Menora Tunnel and from Tapah to Bidor.
He also said there was a minor accident at KM124 south bound from Bertam to Sungai Dua, causing a slow down despite no lane closure.
Traffic was at a crawl from Senawang to the Seremban rest area too, he added.
Meanwhile, a Malaysia Highway Authority (LLM) spokesman informed that traffic was at a crawl from Seremban to Nilai, Ayer Hitam to Machap and Machap to Senai Utara.
It was also congested from Kuala Kangsar to Jelapang, Bukit Merah to Bandar Baru, Bukit Tambun heading to Juru and north bound at the Juru toll plaza, he said.
Heavy traffic was also reported in both directions between Johor Baharu and Singapore, he added.
