The charge, under Section 377A of the Penal Code, provides a maximum jail term for 20 years and whipping, if found guilty.
A construction worker pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to a charge of sodomising a boy five years ago.
Mohd Zaid Zakaria, 37, is charged with committing the unnatural sex against the boy, whose age then was 10 years and 10 months, in a bush area at Taman Cabaran, Precinct 20, Putrajaya at 2 pm on Oct 6, 2010.
The charge, under Section 377A of the Penal Code, provides a maximum jail term for 20 years and whipping, if found guilty.
Deputy public prosecutor Tan Sew Ping, who prosecuted, did not offer bail, but the accused, who was unrepresented, requested for a RM3,000 bail on grounds that he had to go for medical treatment at a hospital every month.
Judge Zulqarnain Hassan set bail at RM10,000 with one surety and set Apr 27 for mention.
