The police have appointed an international independent consultant to undertake studies and research on services provided by the authorities and the security of the people in the country.
Police Crime Reduction National Key Result Areas Secretariat chairman Datuk Wira Ayub Yaakob said the consultant would conduct studies and research throughout the country to get feedback from the people in order to improve the quality of services provided by the police.
"The Independent consultant known as Frost & Sullivan will conduct studies in two aspects, namely to what extent the people are satisfied with services provided by the police and their sense of security in this country," he told reporters at the Selangor police headquarters, here, today.
He said the research would be done in two phases, the first phase expected to be completed by end of this year, while the next phase would be conducted from time to time as per requirement.
Ayub said the result of the research would be in a systematic and comprehensive study report and act as a guidance for the police to improve their services through the feedback received directly from the people.
He also advised all police personnel to continue forging closer ties with the community to ensure good cooperation between both parties to combat crime.
