Cook fined for taking pictures, making video recording of woman's leg

A cook was fined RM1,000, in default a month's jail, by the Magistrate's Court here today for insulting the modesty of a woman by taking pictures and making a video recording of her leg.
Magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahid meted out the fine on Chow Chee Yeep, 31, who pleaded guilty to the charge.
He was charged with committing the offence on a 36-year-old sales promoter by taking the pictures and making a video recording of her leg without the woman's knowledge at a food court at Level 1, Pavilion, at 2.05 pm on June 13 last year.
The charge, under Section 509 of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for up to five years, or fine, or both, upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Noorelynna Hanim Abd Hanim prosecuted, while Chow was unrepresented.
