Two policemen were seriously injured after they were slashed by two drug pushers when conducting an operation at a vacant house in Kampung Tangki Air, Cheras, yesterday evening.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said Corporal Muztaza Nizan Minhaj and Constable Danny Sia Siaw Kian from the Cheras Narcotics CID were injured on the head after being attacked by the suspects.
In the 6pm incident, police conducted an inspection of the location, suspected of being a drug addict haunt, he said in a statement.
"Police had directed the suspects in the house to come out but two of them suddenly dashed out of the front door and started slashing the policemen who were conducting the raid.
"Both suspects fled into a nearby bush area," he said.
He said both policemen were taken to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (PPUKM) for treatment.
He said Sia received 14 stitches for his injuries while Muztaza was still being treated at the hospital emergency ward.
