Corruption: AADK assistant officer remanded for 3 days

A Sepang-based National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) assistant officer has been remanded for three days to facilitate investigations into two corruption cases, involving RM5,160 in April last year and RM1,000 in March this year.
The remand order was issued by magistrate Rahimah Rahim at the special remand court here, on the application of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) prosecuting officer Mohd Khairi Abdul Karim.
The woman aged 34, who is also the Sepang AADK Prevention Unit head had earlier given her statement at the Negeri Sembilan MACC office before being detained between 3.22 pm and 3.32 pm yesterday.
MACC arrested her based on a report that she had influenced her boss, the Sepang AADK chief to appoint her elder brother's company to provide supplies and services for an AADK programme, 'Sayangi Hidup Elak Derita Selamanya' in April last year, for RM5,160.
She was also claimed to have influenced her boss to appoint her younger sibling's company in March this year to provide supplies for an AADK programme, 'Family On Alert - Prevention Begins From Home', for RM1,000.
The case is being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.
