Corruption: TNB senior officer remanded seven days

A senior officer with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) was today ordered to be remanded for seven days until Aug 22 for investigation into two alleged cases of corruption.
The remand order was issued by magistrate Ahmad 'Adha 'Amir Yaseer Amri, here.
The suspect is being investigated under Section 17(a) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009 for allegedly soliciting for and receiving a bribe, and under Section 23 of the same Act for allegedly using his post or position to obtain bribe.
The 47-year old arrived at the court at 9am this morning.
Yesterday, he was arrested at his office in Kota Bharu at 2pm in simultaneous operations conducted by MACC.
MACC Investigations Director Datuk Azam Baki reportedly said yesterday, three public servants, including one who is a 'Datuk' and another a 'Datuk Seri', were arrested over allegations of corruption, abuse of power and money laundering.
The three, attached to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), the Public Works Department and TNB were apprehended in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Kelantan.
