Couple die in road mishap, miss Aidiladha celebration
Initial investigations revealed that the victim lost control of the vehicle in the middle lane of the highway after a rear tyre burst, before hitting the road divider.
A couple's aspirations to celebrate Aidiladha in their hometown were dashed, after they were killed in an accident at KM 40.6 of the Elite Highway heading from Shah Alam towards Nilai, this morning.
In the incident which occurred at about 10.30am, three of the couple's children were also injured, while another child escaped unhurt when the Proton Exora the family was travelling in, skidded, and crashed into a road divider.
The couple, Nordin Mohd Tahir, and his wife, Hasnah Ishak, both aged 47, died at the scene.
Their children, Alif Asyraf, 21, and Adriana Athirah, 18, both suffered minor injuries, while Alif Amirul Aiman, 15, suffered serious injuries, and Nur Aina Aqila, 11, was unharmed.
