Court sets May 30 for remention of Kim Jong Nam murder case

Judge Harith Sham Mohamed Yasin made the decision after the prosecution requested for a month and a half duration to gather required evidence.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Iskandar Ahmad also said the requested time will allow them to prepare the documents from related departments.

The two accused Doan Thi Huong, 29, and Siti Aisyah, 25, were represented by their respective defence lawyers.

Doan was represented by Hisham Teh Poh Teik dan Datuk Naran Singh, while Siti Aisyah was represented by Gooi Soon Seng.

Representatives from both Vietnam and Indonesia embassies were also present.

On March 1, Doan and Siti Aisyah were charged in the Magistrate's Court along with four others still at large with the murder of Jong Nam, 45.

They allegedly committed the offence at the KL International Airport 2 (klia2) departure hall around 9am on Feb 13 this year, as charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which provides for the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

No plea were taken from them as the case is under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

It was reported that Jong-nam was at klia2 on the said date to board a flight to Macau when two women approached him and suddenly wiped his face with toxic liquid which was later identified as a VX nerve agent.
