KUALA LUMPUR:Malaysia recorded a total of 1,309 new COVID-19 infections within 24 hours.
Of those, 1,308 were domestic transmission while another was an import case.
The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) in a media statement on Sunday informed that the number of new recovery cases was 1,333, with a cumulative total of 52,647.
MOH also recorded three deaths, one each in Ipoh, Seremban and Sabah.
"The Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur reported the highest daily cases with 493 (37.7 per cent), of which 473 cases (95.9 per cent) were from work clusters (construction sites).
"This is followed by Sabah with 290 cases (22.2 per cent) and Selangor with 238 cases (18.2 per cent).
“A total of 75 cases (5.7 percent) reported were related to clusters in the temporary detention centres (PTS) and prisons involving the Tembok Cluster (38 cases), Jalan Harapan Prison Cluster (14 cases), Seberang Perai Prison Cluster (13 cases ), Tawau PTS Cluster (4 cases), Remand Prison Cluster (3 cases), Tawau GK Cluster (2 cases), and Sandakan Prison Cluster (1 case)," the statement explained.
Meanwhile, the statement said four new clusters have been identified today.
The clusters are Sungai Mulia Construction Site Cluster in Titiwangsa, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Batu Lima Cluster in Kota Kinabalu, Yayasan Cluster in Klang, Selangor and Hilir Cluster in Kota Bharu, Tumpat, Bachok and Pasir Puteh in Kelantan.
"As of November 29, 2020, a total of 359 clusters have been reported including four new clusters reported today.
"The total number of clusters that have expired is 176 including one cluster that ended today, namely the Megah Cluster.
"This brings the total number of active clusters monitored to 183 clusters. Of that number, 49 clusters reported an increase in cases," the statement said.
According to the statement, the clusters that reported the highest number of new cases today were the Awan Baru Construction Site Cluster (367 cases), Bintang Cluster (76 cases) and Bayam Indah Cluster (52 cases).
