COVID-19: 11 positive cases reported in Sarawak, Kuching remains red zone

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) reported an increase of 11 positive COVID-19 cases in the state on Sunday.
Six cases were reported in Kuching, three in Miri while two cases in Bintulu.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, three cases reported in Kuching involved contacts to 866 cases reported on 30 October 2020.
"The cases involved two close contacts at workplace and one contact involving family members aged between 13 to 20 years.
"All the cases were confirmed positive for COVID-19 on 31 October 2020 and the cases were categorised as local infections. Further investigations and contact tracking are underway,” the statement said.
In addition, two other cases in Kuching were in close contact with the Greenhill Cluster while one case was detected through symptomatic screening at a health facility in Kuching.
In Miri, three cases were detected involving one case of close contact to 829 cases from the Greenhill Cluster, one case of import B involving travel to the state of Selangor and one case detected through screening on health workers.
Two cases in Bintulu were cases of out-of-district infection (import case C) involving a husband and wife who had contact with case 826 from the Greenhill Cluster.
“Both cases have a history of travel to Kuching from 22 to 25 October 2020 and met with case 826.
"They underwent a screening test at Bintulu Hospital on October 31, 2020 and were confirmed positive on the same day," the statement added.
So far, Sarawak still recorded five active clusters involving Greenhill Cluster, Baki Cluster, Bah Arnab Cluster and Seladah Cluster in Kuching and Putra Cluster in Bintulu.
