There were 14 new COVID-19 cases recorded today including 10 local transmissions and four import cases, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
“This brings the cumulative total number of positive COVID-19 cases to 9,374 with 163 active cases,” he said in a statement today.
For the record, there were more local transmissions of the virus for three consecutive days since Sept 1 with nine cases and Sept 2 (six cases).
In the breakdown of local transmissions, Dr Noor Hisham said six cases involved local residents and four foreigners.
“There were four cases in Kedah with three cases from Tawar cluster and 1 from Telaga cluster as well as two in Sabah involving Benteng LD cluster. The four local transmission cases involving foreigners are from Benteng LD cluster in Sabah.
“For the four import cases, three were from Singapore and one from Philippines,” he said.
Meanwhile, four patients recovered today, bringing the cumulative total number of recoveries to 9,083 cases or 96.9 per cent from the overall cases.
There were no deaths reported today and the death toll remains at 128 cases.
As at today, only four COVID-19 patients are still being treated at intensive care unit with three of them requiring respiratory assistance.
