COVID-19: 2,764 new cases, 13 deaths recorded

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah, said Selangor still reported the highest daily cases by state with 862, followed by Johor with 521 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 422 cases.
PUTRAJAYA: A total of 2,764 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to date to 248,316.
Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah, said of the total, six cases of imports were reported to have received infection from abroad while the rest were local cases.
"There are currently 50,841 cases with COVID-19 infectivity," he said in a press conference here on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a total of 13 new deaths were also reported, bringing the cumulative number of death cases to 909.
Regarding the spread by state, he said, Selangor reported the highest daily cases with 862, followed by Johor with 521 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 422 cases.
To date, a total of 289 cases are receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and of that number, 127 cases require respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the number of recovery cases continued to increase by 3,887 cases, bringing the cumulative number of cases recovered to 196,566.
