COVID-19: 4,094 new cases, 10 deaths

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded an increase of 4,094 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours.
The increase brings the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the country now to 198,208.
According to a report by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), out of the 4,094 new infections, eight were import cases while the rest were local contagions.
"There are currently 43,192 cases with active COVID-19 infectivity," the MOH reported on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the number of casualties due to the pandemic also continued to increase when a total of 10 new deaths were reported today, bringing the total number of deaths to 717.
In a similar development, a total of 303 cases were receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 118 of whom requiring respiratory assistance.
Menwhile, the number of recovery cases continued to record an increase of 3,281 cases, bringing the cumulative number of cases recovered to 154,299.
