COVID-19: 47 new cases, 21 of which are import cases

The Ministry of Health (MOH) today confirmed 47 new positive cases of COVID-19 were detected in the country as of Sunday.
According to Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, 21 of those cases were import cases while 26 were domestic cases.
In addition, the MOH also said there were 44 cases that have recovered and allowed to be discharged today, bringing the total number of cases fully recovered to 5,615 or 80.9 per cent of the total cases.
“As at 12:00 noon of May 18, 2020, 47 cases have been reported. Therefore, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Malaysia is 6,941 cases and the number of active cases with COVID-19 infectivity is 1,213 cases.
"Please also note of the 47 new cases reported, 21 cases are imported cases of overseas infections, while 26 cases are of local origin and 17 cases are non-Malaysians," he said at a daily press conference of the Ministry of Health (MOH) here today.
