COVID-19: Five more deaths, 170 new cases in Malaysia

Malaysia has recorded five more cases of COVID-19 deaths with 170 new cases reported as at 12:00 noon April 14, 2020.
Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said it raised the cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia to 82 or 1.64 per cent of the total number of cases.
At the same time, 202 COVID-19 positive cases have recovered and discharged from hospital.
"The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to announce that 202 cases have recovered and allowed to be discharged today. This resulted in a cumulative total of COVID-19 fully recovered cases and discharged from the ward at 2,478 cases (49.7 per cent, almost half the total number of cases).
Also today, the number of cases of those discharged exceeds the number of new cases reported.
"As of April 14, 2020 at 12:00 noon, there have been 170 new cases reported, thus bringing the total of positive COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 4,987 cases.
“After the cumulative cases are deducted from both the cases of death and those dicharged, the total number of active cases with COVID-19 infectivity is 2,427 cases. They have been isolated and are being treated," he said at a press conference here Tuesday.
To date, 60 COVID-19 positive cases are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Of these, 33 cases required respiratory assistance.
The latest death cases are as follows:
The 78th death (Case 4532) was an unidentified adult man, believed to be a non-citizen, found dead in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on April 6, 2020. The results of the COVID-19 sample test obtained during the autopsy were positive on April 11. 2020. The case is under investigation by the Royal Malaysian Police.
The 79th death (Case 2052) was a 65-year-old Malaysian citizen with a background of diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease. He was hospitalized at Sungai Buloh Hospital, Selangor on March 27, 2020 and was pronounced dead on April 14, 2020 at 5.17am.
The 80th death (Case 4818) was a 63-year-old Malaysian citizen with a history of heart disease and kidney disease. He was hospitalized at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital on April 7, 2020 and was pronounced dead on April 12, 2020 at 11.36 pm.
The 81st death (Case 4521) was a 74-year-old Malaysian woman with a history of kidney disease. Shee has a close contact history with Case 4088 that attended the rally in Seri Petaling. She was hospitalized at Malacca Hospital on April 9, 2020 and was pronounced dead on April 13, 2020 at 4.20 pm.
The 82nd death (Case 1649) was an 81-year-old Malaysian citizen with a history of diabetes. He has a close contact history of the COVID-19 positive case, the 343th case that attended the rally in Seri Petaling. He was hospitalized at the Hospital Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom, Johor on March 26, 2020 and was pronounced dead on April 14, 2020 at 11.50 am.
