COVID-19: IKEA Damansara closed for one day, part-time employee suspected of being infected

KUALA LUMPUR: Home furniture store, IKEA Damansara are closed for a day today after a part-time employee has been suspected being infected with COVID-19.
Ikea in a statement said the company was informed on November 6 (Friday) that the part-time employee was suspected of being infected with COVID-19 and is currently under the care of the authorities for pending testing.
"As a proactive preventive measure, our branch will be closed on November 7 for sanitation and cleaning work, in accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Health.
"Our branch will be operational again on November 8, 2020," the company added.
Ikea also explained that the last time the employee worked at the premises was on October 30 and currently Ikea is working with health officials and will follow the advice issued by the authorities.
“We (Ikea) will continue to ensure that all preventive measures are taken at our branch to ensure the comfort and safety of everyone.
"These measures include the MySejahtera application for tracking contacts, physical incarceration markers, temperature scanners at all entrances and providing sanitiser.
"We also encourage everyone to do their duty by supporting and following the government's instructions to prevent the spread of Covid-19," Ikea added.
