The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MoH) will need at least 10 days to screen all residents in the newly gazetted area under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at the Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion buildings in Jalan Masjid India here.
Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor HIsham Abdullah, said the ministry also hoped to implement the disinfection process within the specified time.
“We estimate (for the Selangor Mansion and the Malayan Mansion), each with 2,500 residents, making it an estimated 5,000 residents. We hope, with active case detection (ACD), including filters, we have 10 days to clear the area.
"We hope to be able to carry out the disinfection process, during which time we will intensify the ACD efforts there," he added.
Earlier today, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the EMCO would be enforced at the Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion buildings in Jalan Masjid India.
He said it was the fourth EMCO to be in force today following the presence of 15 positive COVID-19 cases reported from the area.
The EMCO was earlier enforced in Kluang, Johor; Sungai Lui in Hulu Langat, Selangor, and the Menara City One in Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Kuala Lumpur.
In Kluang, Dr Noor Hisham said there was an increase of 11 cases, Sungai Lui saw an increase of 11 cases and the Menara City One PKPD an increase of six cases.
