The Ministry of Health (MOH) has travelled to six states to carry out its community empowerment activities under the Reduction of COVID-19 Infection Programme, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.
He said that to date the MOH had travelled to Selangor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Perak and Pahang to conduct the programme, which began on May 29 and aimed at preparing district-level community empowerment once the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) is lifted.
"We travelled to several states, especially the yellow and green zones. We asked them to empower their communities as frontliners to protect the area as well as their families and themselves," he said in a telephone interview on Selamat Pagi Malaysia on TV1 today.
In the five-minute interview, Dr Adham also said that of the 1,178 areas nationwide, a total of 1,116 or 94 percent were categorised as green zones.
Of the total, he said five districts were still categorised at red zones and they include two each in Selangor (Hulu Langat and Sepang) and Kuala Lumpur (Bukit Jalil and Cheras) as well as in Pedas, Negeri Sembilan.
He urged the public to download the MySejahtera app to enable them to get the latest information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in their respective areas.
Meanwhile, through several of his official Facebook posts, the Health Minister also actively held meetings with several menteri besar or chief minister to discuss the latest developments in COVID-19 in their respective states.
