There is no need to relocate the residents of Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion in Jalan Masjid India which came under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).
Health director-general, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the Health Ministry (MOH) is conducting active case detection at the two densely occupied buildings.
"We don't need to relocate them unless they are positive, then we will locate them and isolate them in our hospital,” he told the daily COVID-19 media conference here today.
Dr Noor Hisham said MOH is actively tracing close contacts involving 15 positive COVID-19 cases in both buildings.
"Now we are searching for them and hope to find them as soon as possible. If we manage to identify them, we will test, isolate and treat them...the process is ongoing," he said.
On Tuesday, the government decided to implement the fourth EMCO at Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion in Jalan Masjid India following 15 positive cases of COVID-19 in both buildings.
The media reported that the EMCO in the area involved 5,000 to 6,000 occupants in 365 resident units as well as business premises who are 97 per cent foreigners.
In this regard, Dr Noor Hisham said the government would be informing the foreign missions concerned if their citizens were found infected with COVID-19 in this country. - BERNAMA
